Twenty-Two Years in Atmospheric Science
Ex-Science Advisor, CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research
After a PhD in Theoretical Chemistry and Mass Spectrometry, and more of the same as a post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Warwick and ANU, Willem moved to CSIRO and worked as a science planner and science advisor in Atmospheric Science. In his talk, he will present an overview of the major issues in atmospheric science over that time, and how the science has changed, matured and influenced policy and society. The main focus will be on air pollution, stratospheric ozone depletion, and the greenhouse effect/global warming.
